My girlfriend lives in Hong Kong, and I live in Chicago. I am trying to plan an engagement during my trip which is June 27 - July 6th. I have never been to HK so this is a challenge! Can you give me some great ideas on restaurants that would be upscale and appropriate for such a special moment?

Take on the challenge, pal! This is definitely going to be the most rewarding challenge you've taken up. I would suggest The Box and H One in IFC Mall, one of the tallest buildings in Hong Kong, which will be perfect for your moment. With its floor to ceiling glass walls and stunning views overlooking Victoria Habour, both rate as an ideal spot to slip the ring on your soulmate as you both sit back and watch the city unfold before your eyes from the venue`s vantage point. I'm sure your gal would be impressed.

For some quiet romantic moments away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Verandah is an escape reminiscent of the grandeur of colonial times, with tables lit by candlelight and the swaying palm trees set right next to Repulse Bay beach.

Not forgetting a classic favourite, Top Deck on the top floor of Hong Kong's legendary Jumbo Floating Restaurant is a great, reasonably priced restaurant and this location will definitely make it a talk-of-the town engagement. Wishing you my heartiest congratulations Doug.
