A quiet, simply decorated restaurant away from the noise and tourist buzz of The Peak Tower. There are killer views of the city, which every guest can soak up thanks to the elevated booths and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The menu features standard Japanese fare with a good selection of sushi, sashimi and some more experimental maki rolls as well as tempura and teppanyaki. The sushi and sashimi platters are so fresh they fall apart in the mouth and the soft shell crab maki rolls and tuna rolls are not to be missed for the innovative combinations of flavor and texture. The live lobster tempura, which is lightly battered finds the perfect balance of crunchy batter and succulent meat and is served with a delicious salty vinegar dipping sauce. The hot dishes are a little disappointing compared to the fantastic sushi and sashimi but the Wagyu beef teppanyaki is thinly sliced to perfecton and the pork teppanyaki is tasty. Definitely worth a visit for the views and the sushi.
There is a reasonably good wine list with a good range of New and Old World wines at a range of prices.
Staff are friendly and polite but tend to be slow and unobservant. The waiting staff would benefit from more training.
Sushi, tempura and tep-panyaki courses for two, without wine, comes to $1,434.
