Island Life

Dear Editor,

To get away from the active pace of life in the city, I have decided to move to Discovery Bay so that my family can have some tranquility. To make our stay here more enjoyable, can you point me in the right direction to indulge in good food?

Christina Yami

Dear Christina,

I understand your need to get away from it all.

The D Deck promenade on Discovery Bay is a perfect spot to chill out with friends where food has never tasted so good. Enjoy sea-view alfresco dining while being entertained by the nightly dazzle of Disneyland fireworks.

Moorings has newly opened with an international a la carte menu that spotlights the freshest seafood, appetizers, salad and dishes such as spiced swordfish, African chicken and Colorado lamb rump that is definitely worth trying out.

Manta Ray Restaurant also does add a unique culinary flair to compliment this amazing alfresco setting. Serving excellent Mediterranean seafood, almost all of its ingredients are imported including meats and seafood and all breads and pasta are handmade.

For something more casual, opt for Café Duvet, where you can tuck into the canopied booths fitted with comfortable blue and red colored day-beds as you enjoy the innovative cocktails and tapas.

Good luck to your peace mission!
