An huge brightly-lit restaurant linked to another of the hotel’s restaurants by an ornate manmade bridge, which gives the feeling of being on a Kung Fu movie set. The beautiful plates show attention to detail.
Food is prepared to a high standard and both the presentation and the taste is a five-star experience. Not to be missed is the signature dish of double-boiled pig’s lung soup with assorted meat, pak choy and almond juice. It is pleasantly sweet and cooked to a perfect white color and excellent taste. Another enticing dish is the braised spare ribs “Mongolian” style. The sauce is more authentically sweet and sour with subtle use of spices and the meat is as tender as it can get. The signature wok-fried egg noodles with rock lobster and scrambled egg white is a decadent dish and the egg and lobster meat work perfectly together to douse the soft, fresh noodles in a creamy and slightly zesty garnish.
A good choice of sparkling, red and white wine from around the world including a rather surprising selection from China.
Service is consistent and very good. All staff are knowledgeable about food and able to answer questions politely.
A full-course meal, with desserts, for two is excellent value at around $666, without wine.
