This Roman-villa style restaurant is decorated like a traditional Italian trattoria while still maintaining an airy sense of space.
In Rome, Sabatini is considered one of the best restaurants in town and the Hong Kong branch certainly lives up to high expectations. The menu is a faithful copy of the Roman restaurant’s menu, which is popular with its loyal clientele not for sophisticated gastronomy but for classic Italian cuisine. Every dish is simple but delicious and prepared in an authentic home-cooking style. The handmade pasta and ravioli is lightly cooked a dente and served with a spectacular sauce, made from the freshest ingredients. The Osso Bucco, the veal scallop is succulent and perfectly seasoned and the famous tiramisu tastes so authentic it could have been made in Rome and airmailed to Hong Kong. Indeed, despite the fact the cuisine speaks for itself, the strong presence of Italian customers every night is further proof that this is one of the best and most authentic Italian restaurants in Hong Kong.
A really impressive wine list, which is probably one of the best selections of Italian wines in town but all wine are expensive (it’s difficult to find a bottle for less than $1,000).
Friendly and efficient with an amiable Italian maitre d’.
A three-course meal for two, without wine, is around $1,600.
