Setting:

The view of the East Coast beach makes the new sister restaurant of One Rochester the closest thing to resort-style dining without having to leave the confines of Singapore.

Food:

The scallops entrée is seared to crisp perfection and served with sweet corn puree and sunny-side farm egg with truffle cream on the side, which make this dish a playful alternative to the norm. Another good appetiser is the yellow fin tuna sashimi, freshly sliced to the right thickness. For mains, ask to share. This is especially so when ordering the boneless quail with linguine. The pasta cep sauce with truffle salt and a 15-year-old Mareira wine is rich and irresistible, but too much for one. The quail itself is nicely salt-seasoned and served tender. The Black Angus beef tenderloin (200 days) is an unfortunate example of European fusion gone awry, with the over-roasted beef fillet resting on a bland braised beef shin in red wine jus. The savoy cabbage below is too reminiscent of a traditional Peranakan dish, chup chye (mixed vegetable stew) and sowed further civil discord to the dish presentation. All desserts look well thought out. One sinful indulgence is the raspberry crème brûlée, comprising of pomelo salad with mango foam topping on a raspberry consommé jelly and married with a scoop of gula melaka ice cream. 

Wine:

A comprehensive wine list with an emphasis on New World vintages. There is also a decent selection of house reds and whites.
